* Canterberry and Romero are students at Marshall University. On April 7, 2010, Canterberry was socializing with friends at Peckers, a bar in Huntington, when Romero "maliciously and intentionally struck plaintiff in the head with a bottle," according to the suit. Canterberry claims Romero's actions caused her to lose consciousness and suffer injuries, including lacerations on her face and knee. During the week after the injury, Canterberry blacked out twice, indicating she suffered a neurological injury, according to the suit. Canterberry is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* The defendants misrepresented Curry's income in the origination of a home loan and after her death, unilaterally filed a Deed of Trust, which struck Mrs. Hopkins from the instrument, despite the fact that she was a then current owner of the property, according to the suit. Mrs. Hopkins claims the defendant has since sought to foreclose on the property and refused to act on her application for loss mitigation. She and Mr. Hopkins are seeking actual and punitive damages.

Michelle Bailey vs. Cabell County Commission

* Bailey was employed by the defendant as a security officer in the Cabell County Courthouse. She claims almost immediately after C.A. Adams was appointed Cabell County Sheriff, he began harassing her and treating her differently than how he treated male employees. She claims he reduced her work schedule and replaced her with a younger, less experienced male employee. Bailey was compelled to resign from her position because the working conditions became intolerable, according to the suit, and resigned on April 8, 2009. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre-judgment interest.
