Pullman Plaza hotel says Pa. author owes $15,000

HUNTINGTON -- Pullman Plaza Hotel is suing a Warfordsburg, Pa., author after it claims she failed to pay more than $15,000, for the 2010 Reader Appreciation Weekend.

Christina Simmons has organized Reader Appreciation Weekends for several years and contacted Pullman Plaza Hotel to organize a Reader Appreciation Weekend at the hotel in 2010, according to a complaint filed March 23 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Pullman Plaza Hotel claims it contracted with Simmons for the 2010 Reader Appreciation Weekend that was held in September at the hotel.

Simmons contract with Pullman Plaza Hotel for banquet facilities, meeting space and catering for several functions occurring during the weekend, according to the suit.

Pullman Plaza Hotel claims the invoice for the products and services contracted for by Simmons totaled $17,628.52 and that Simmons paid a deposit in the amount of $2,200 prior to the event.

Simmons has failed to dispute the debt and has failed to pay the debt, according to the suit.

Pullman Plaza Hotel is seeking judgment in the amount of $15,428.52 with interest. It is being represented by Daniel J. Konrad and Cindy D. McCarty.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
