Ashland man sues 136 companies for asbestosis diagnosis

CHARLESTON -- An Ashland, Ky., man is suing 136 companies after he claims they are responsible for his asbestosis diagnosis.

Ronald Eugene Withrow was diagnosed with asbestosis on March 28, 2010, according to a complaint filed March 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Withrow claims the defendants exposed him to asbestos and asbestos-containing products during his employment with various companies from 1954 until 1999.

The defendants are being sued upon theories of negligence, contaminated buildings, breach of expressed/implied warranty, strict liability, intentional tort, conspiracy, misrepresentations and post-sale duty to warn, according to the suit.

Withrow is seeking a jury trial to resolve all issues involved. He is being represented by Bronwyn I. Rinehart.

The case has been assigned to a visiting judge.
