Putnam man sues after being involved in car accident

WINFIELD – A Buffalo man is suing the driver of a vehicle he claims struck his vehicle at an intersection in 2009.

On Dec. 18, 2009, John Gatten was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer when he was struck by a 2003 Ford Ranger being driven by Robert J. Harper, according to a complaint filed June 17 in Putnam Circuit Court.

Gatten claims he was at the intersection of Charleston Road and Calispell Ridge Road in Mason County when Harper negligently and carelessly operated his vehicle and struck him.

Harper's actions caused Gatten to suffer damages, including physical injury; medical expenses; mental anguish; pain and suffering; annoyance and inconvenience; loss of enjoyment of life; and loss of income and earning capacity, according to the suit.

Gatten is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by G. Patrick Jacobs.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge O.C. Spaulding.
