Woman says Dollar General discriminated against her

HUNTINGTON -- A former employee is suing Dolgencorp, LLC, after she claims her employment was terminated because of her age and disability.

Donna Walters was employed by the defendant from Oct. 4, 2006, until Jan. 25, according to a complaint filed June 7 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Walters claims during her employment with Dolgencorp, she properly performed her job duties as required.

Dolgencorp discharged Walters because of her age and her disability, according to the suit.

Walters claims the defendant violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act by discriminating against her because of her age and disability.

Walters is seeking reinstatement and compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
