HUNTINGTON -- An Athens, Ohio, couple is suing Cabell Huntington Hospital after they claim an area with wet floor caused injuries.
On July 17, 2009, Cherry J. Dixon was at Cabell Huntington Hospital when she was caused to slip and fall as a result of a wet floor, according to a complaint filed June 24 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Dixon claims the hospital failed to remedy the situation and failed to warn her of the condition.
As a result of the defendant's negligence and carelessness to maintain its premises, Dixon sustained injuries and aggravation of a previously existing defect, according to the suit.
Dixon claims the defendant caused her to undergo painful and extensive medical care and treatment.
The defendant's negligence also caused Dixon's husband, Mick Dixon to be deprived of services, society and consortium of his wife, according to the suit.
The Dixons are seeking compensatory damages with interest. They are being represented by R. Matthew Vital and Matthew R. Oliver.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
