On Aug. 19, 2009, the freezer caught fire and destroyed the business premises of the restaurant, according to the suit. The plaintiffs claim the cause of the fire was investigated and it was discovered that the fire occurred due to a malfunction with the compressor unit and/or power cord on the freezer. They are seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

* Diamond rents a house from NAJ, LLC, and owns two pit bulls that she keeps in the house and in a pen outside of the house, according to the suit. Jones claims on Aug. 24, 2009, she was traveling past the defendants' home when the two pit bulls were not secured in their pen, nor were they on leashes. She claims the dogs attacked her and bit her several times, causing her injuries. After the police arrived, the dogs then attacked the police officers and the officers were forced to shoot the dogs. Jones is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

Later that day, White claims she called the defendants regarding a financial matter and was told by a staff member that her son was complaining that his arm hurt, but not to come pick him up "because he tells stories." White claims she left her employment and went to the center to check on her son and immediately noticed that his right shoulder did not appear normal and took him to the hospital, where it was discovered that her son had a broken right collar bone. When White informed her estranged husband, Nettles, about the injury he took the child from her residence and filed a domestic violence petition against her that was false and fraudulent, according to the suit. White is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
