MORGANTOWN – A Morgantown man is suing Triad Engineering after he claims his employment was wrongfully terminated.

Karen L. Krabill, who is employed by Triad as the Geotechnical Services Manager and the plaintiff's immediate supervisor; John Kent, who was the Chief Operating Officer of Triad; and Lydia Work, who was a branch manager of the Morgantown office of Triad, were also named as defendants in the suit.

Douglas D. Oliver was employed by Triad Engineering until July 11, according to a complaint filed Aug. 24 in Monongalia Circuit Court.

Oliver claims in 2006, Krabill's husband had been the chief operating officer of Triad and had some serious disagreements with him over smoking in the office and over-working relationships. Due to some unprofessional business decisions and personal problems, Krabill's husband was asked to resign from the company.

After July 2010, Krabill began a campaign of harassing Oliver with false and negative employment evaluations and false and negative about his work and had also created a hostile work environment for him in an effort to discredit him with the company and get him fired, according to the suit.

Oliver claims after reporting Krabill's hostility and his problems with her to Kent and Work, his employment was terminated.

The defendants wrongfully and illegally discharged Oliver from his employment in retaliation due to Krabill's resentment of him, according to the suit.

Oliver claims he was also singled out and discriminated against by the defendants because of his age.

Oliver is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by Edward R. Kohout.
