Putnam woman sues Charleston Town Center for injuries

CHARLESTON – A Putnam County woman is suing Charleston Town Center Company after she fell down the stairs.

On Feb. 11, 2010, Alice Faye Vickers was shopping at the Charleston Town Center while using the aid of crutches, according to a complaint filed Aug. 5 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Vickers claims she was forced to use the stairs to enter the mall from the parking garage area because the elevators were out of service.

While attempting to walk down the stairs using her crutches, Vickers fell and was injured, according to the suit.

Vickers claims the defendant breached its duty by failing to provide a handicap accessible entrance.

As a result of the defendant's negligence, Vickers incurred medical bills, lost wages and other expenses, according to the suit.

Vickers is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Michael J. Del Giudice.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
