CHARLESTON -- Passengers are suing the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority and a woman they claim are responsible for injuries they sustained during a vehicle accident.
On Aug. 18, 2009, Samuel Brooks; Jo'Niesha Johnson, along with her minor daughter Annaniesha Bagley; and Rose Mary Foye were all passengers on a bus being driven by Eugene Naylor at the intersection of Clendenin Street and Quarrier Street in Charleston when a vehicle being driven by Katie Curtis collided with the bus, according to three complaints filed Aug. 16 and Aug. 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
The plaintiffs claim Curtis operated her vehicle in a negligent manner, failed to yield the right of way and negligently collided with the bus.
The plaintiffs were thrown against the interior of the bus and received injuries because of the vehicle accident, according to the suit.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. Brooks is being represented by Shannon M. Bland. Johnson and Foye are being represented by R. Michael Martin.
The cases have been assigned to Circuit Judges James C. Stucky, Charles E. King and Louis H. Bloom.
