Man sues Kraft for failure to pay final wages

CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Kraft Foods Global after he claims it failed to pay his final wages in a timely manner.

On May 19, John Kreiner resigned from his position at Kraft Foods, according to a complaint filed Aug. 30 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Kreiner claims Kraft failed to pay his final wages and/or fringe benefits owed in full by the next regular payday.

The defendant's failure to pay Kreiner's employment wages, including the fringe benefits, owed by the next regular payday violates the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collections Act, according to the suit.

Kreiner claims the defendants' actions caused him damages.

Kreiner is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
