CHARLESTON – As he did last year in his home state, a Maryland attorney has lost his license to practice law in West Virginia.
The state Supreme Court on Oct. 6 ordered the annulment of Richard G. Solomon's West Virginia law license. The Court's decision came at the request of its Lawyer Disciplinary Board that recommended it mirror the Maryland Supreme Court's Sept. 9, 2010, decision to disbar Solomon, a sole practitioner in Ijamsville, Md.
According to court records, the disbarment came at Solomon's request following an investigation by Maryland's Attorney Grievance Commission that he received funds from three separate clients "and failed to maintain the funds pursuant to his fiduciary duties in violation of the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct." Following his disbarment in Maryland, Solomon promptly notified the other jurisdictions where he held a license including Virginia, the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania.
Records show, Solomon was admitted to the Maryland Bar on Dec. 1, 1986, and to the state Bar on Oct. 22, 2004.
