Man says Sprint didn't pay final wages timely

CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Sprint/United Management Company after he claims it failed to pay his final wages in a timely manner.

Adam R. Marcum was employed by the defendants twice, from Feb. 1, 2010, until June 30, 2010, and from November 2010 until June 24, 2011, according to a complaint filed Dec. 29 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Marcum claims both times he worked for the defendant, he gave them at least one pay period's notice that he was resigning his employment, but the defendant still failed to pay his final wages in a timely manner.

The defendant's actions violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.

Marcum claims the defendant's actions also caused him damages.

Marcum is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
