Woman sues St. Mary's Medical Center for husband's injuries

HUNTINGTON -- A woman is suing St. Mary's Medical Center after she claims they are responsible for her husband's injuries.

On July 23, 2010, Bill L. Murray was admitted to St. Mary's with complaints of dyspnea and underwent surgery, according to a complaint filed Jan. 6 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Brookie A. Murray claims Bill Murray suffered a skin breakdown and pressure ulcers during the admission at St. Mary's.

St. Mary's failed to provide adequate care plans for the skin issues, according to the suit.

Brookie Murray claims the defendant's negligence caused Bill Murray to suffer serious injuries, which resulted in pain, suffering and the loss of enjoyment of life.

St. Mary's breached its duty to Bill Murray by being negligent, according to the suit.

Brookie Murray is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Andrew L. Paternostro, Sprague W. Hazard and Jeff D. Stewart.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
