CHARLESTON -- KKB LLC is suing Elite Gentleman's Club after it claims the company caused property damage to its building.
John and Jane Doe were also named as defendants in the suit.
Mahesh Patel is doing business as Elite Gentleman's Club.
On July 27, 2010, Patel's ice machine malfunctioned, which caused flooding and severe damage to KKB's building, according to a complaint filed Jan. 11 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
KKB claims the property damage was solely caused by the defendants' negligence in that they failed to maintain and/or repair their premises.
The incident was the fifth occasion within the past 10 years that KKB's building has sustained damage caused by a leakage from the defendants' property due to the disrepair and poor maintenance of the property, according to the suit.
KKB is seeking compensatory damages. It is being represented by Brent K. Kesner and Daniel W. Greear.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
