Seven individuals sue Wilson Preferred Services for unsafe work conditions

CHARLESTON -- Seven former employees are suing Wilson Preferred Services for unsafe working conditions.

Wilson Preferred Services Inc. is doing business as Service Master of Kanawha Valley.

Jonathan Shaffer, Joseph W. Sansom, Mark S. Skeens, Jason J. Phillips, William A. Parsons, Terry Shaffer and David W. Jones were employed by Wilson Preferred Services until they made complaints about unsafe working conditions, according to seven complaints filed Jan. 13 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The plaintiffs claim the defendant violated public policy by terminating their employments for complaining about unsafe working conditions.

As a result of the defendant's violation of public policy, the plaintiffs are entitled to an award of reinstatement to their former employment, according to the suit.

The seven plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages. They are being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson, George B. Morrone III and G. Patrick Jacobs.

The cases have been assigned to Circuit Judges Charles E. King, Jennifer Bailey, Louis H. Bloom, James C. Stucky and Tod J. Kaufman.
