CHARLESTON -- A Putnam County man is suing Racing Corporation of West Virginia for injuries sustained as the casino.
On June 19, 2011, Ronald Dean Sigmon was at the Mardi Gras Casino & Resort when he slipped in unseen, pooling water causing him to fall and twist his left knee, according to a complaint filed Jan. 18 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Sigmon claims the defendant negligently created an unsafe place to walk by failing to keep water from pooling on the floor or to provide proper warnings.
As a result of the defendant's wrongful acts Sigmon has been required to expend large sums of money for medical and hospital treatment and services for the injuries he received, according to the suit.
Sigmon is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
