Woman sues Go-Mart for injuries from fall

CHARLESTON -- A woman is suing Go-Mart after she slipped and fell on its premises and was injured.

On Feb. 7, 2010, Jenny Workman slipped on a patch of ice and fell while attempting to get gasoline, according to a complaint filed Feb. 2 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Workman claims she suffered injuries and was laying in the parking lot for many minutes waiting for emergency services to arrive.

As a result of the defendant's unsafe conditions of its store, Workman suffered back pain and injury, which required medications and physical therapy, according to the suit.

Workman claims she had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance because of her injuries.

Go-Mart was negligent in failing to treat and clean up the ice that was on its parking lot that caused Workman's injuries, according to the suit.

Workman is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Cynthia E. Evans.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
