CHARLESTON -- Earlier this month, Attorney General Darrell McGraw's office announced a $33 million settlement that offers assistance to West Virginia homeowners who are victims of the recent mortgage servicing fraud and abuse.

The structure of this settlement and how affected homeowners can take advantage of the relief offered will be discussed on the next "The Law Works" on Thursday, March 1 at 8:30 p.m. on West Virginia PBS and West Virginia PBS.HD.

Guests for the program will be McGraw and West Virginia Assistant Attorney General Heather A. Connolly.

Highlights of the settlement can be found at the Attorney General's website.

McGraw has been the state's Attorney General since 1992. He also has experience as a Supreme Court Justice (1976-1988) and was in private practice prior to his election to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

Connolly joined the Attorney General's office in 2010. She previously worked for the West Virginia Department of Administration and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. She is a U.S. Army veteran and received her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law in 1997.
