Former employee sues Cabell Glass for violation of policy

HUNTINGTON -- A former employee is suing Cabell Glass Company, Inc., for violations of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

Michael P. Wentz was employed by the defendant from 2005 until Feb. 18, 2011, according to a complaint filed Feb. 6 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Wentz claims the defendant failed to pay his final wages within 72 hours of discharge.

The defendant continues to refuse to pay Wentz his wages due at the the time of his termination of employment, according to the suit.

Wentz claims the defendant's violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act has caused him damages.

Cabell Glass Company's violation entitles Wentz to treble damages, according to the suit.

Wentz is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Ricklin Brown and Mary Pat Statler.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
