Salon sues former employee for breach of contract

HUNTINGTON -- Picasso Salon & Day Spa is suing a former employee for breaching her contract with the salon.

On Dec. 30, 2009, Linsey Reynolds began her employment with Picasso Salon & Day Spa, according to a complaint filed Feb. 13 in Cabell Circuit Court.

The salon claims Reynolds signed an employee non-compete agreement that stated that should she leave her employment, she agreed not to directly or indirectly compete within a 20-mile radius of the salon for six months.

In December 2011, Reynolds left her employment and began working at KoKo Bliss, which is less than one mile from Picasso Salon & Day Spa, according to the suit.

The salon claims since KoKo Bliss is less than one mile from Picasso Salon & Day Spa, Reynolds was in breach of her contract and in violation of the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Reynolds' breach of contract caused harm to Picasso by loss of business profits, defamation, and tortious interference of business interests, according to the suit.

Picasso is seeking compensatory damages. It is being represented by Kerry A. Nessel.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
