CHARLESTON -- Tish Chafin has received the endorsements of several labor unions, including the Communication Workers of America (CWA), American Federation of Teachers –- West Virginia, United Transportation Union and South Central Labor Council.
"I am proud to have West Virginia's working families supporting my candidacy for our state's highest court. I sincerely thank them for their support," Chafin said. "I am a consensus candidate. I have the support of business leaders, working families and law enforcement groups across the state."
Chafin also received endorsements from the AFL-CIO, UMWA, West Virginia Sheriffs' Association and the Deputy Sheriffs' Association.
"I have been working hard and meeting people all across West Virginia. As a result, people are backing my candidacy because they believe I work hard and will be a fair Justice," she said. "When I traveled to all 55 counties during my term as West Virginia State Bar President, it gave me great perspective on the diversity of our state and the needs of our legal system. I learned how important it is to have Supreme Court Justices who are willing to listen and able to provide the necessary leadership to address problems facing our State's judiciary and the citizens it serves."
