Charleston man sues sports bar, bouncer for injuries

CHARLESTON -- A Charleston man is suing Pour House Sports Bar and a bouncer who he claims unlawfully struck him and caused him injuries.

Penn American Insurance Company was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On March 28, 2010, Leonard Randy Meador was a patron at the Pour House Sports Bar in Dunbar, where Brandon Dobert was a bouncer, according to a complaint filed March 15 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Meador claims while at the bar, Dobert negligently, carelessly, recklessly and unlawfully struck him and caused him to sustain injuries.

The sports bar was negligent in hiring, supervising and retaining the employment of Dobert, according to the suit.

Meador claims Penn America was the liability insurance policy carrier of Pour House when the incident occurred.

The defendants are responsible for the injuries Meador sustained at the hands of Dobert, according to the suit.

Meador is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by Kristopher Faerber.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis H. Bloom.
