Man says Wilson Preferred Services failed to pay final wages in time

CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Wilson Preferred Services for failing to pay his final wages within 72 hours of discharge.

Jonathan Shaffer was employed by the defendant from Aug. 5, 2010, until Aug. 15, 2011, according to a complaint filed March 15 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Shaffer claims after his employment was terminated, the defendant failed to pay his final wages within 72 hours of discharge.

The defendant's actions violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.

Shaffer is seeking compensatory and liquidated damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
