HUNTINGTON -- A Chesapeake, Ohio, man is suing Setzer's World of Camping after he claims the travel trailer he purchased was defective.
Crossroads RV, Inc. was also named as a defendant in the suit.
On July 5, 2010, Jeffrey Raines purchased a 2011 Slingshot travel trailer from the defendants in the amount of $29,145, and the total to be paid with financing of $41,085, according to a complaint filed March 22 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Raines said the travel trailer was sold unfit and unmerchantable for its intended use and purpose due to the various defects and deficiencies.
The defendants' violated the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act regarding unfair or deceptive acts or practices, according to the suit.
Raines claims upon discovery of the travel trailer's defects, he notified the defendants and gave them a reasonable amount of time to cure the defects, but the defendants have failed to do so.
Raines is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. He is being represented by David R. Tyson.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
