* Nelson has filed a petition over his denial of a concealed pistol/revolver license against the sheriff. He applied for the license Feb. 28. Smith says the application was denied because of criminal background investigation issues. Judge Holliday, filling in for retired Judge Spaulding, orders the sheriff to provide specific reasons for the denial by April 13.

* The Winters say Rover Construction, with David Elswick, created a nuisance in Winfield that damaged their residence when they were working on a wastewater sewer system improvement project. They seek compensatory damages and court costs.

* Dunn, an attorney, filed for divorce from his ex-wife in February 2009. His ex-wife hired Ranson to represent her. In the final divorce hearing in February 2011, the family law judge granted a motion for award of attorney fees against Dunn. The award was for $51,430.87. He says he wasn't given a hearing to oppose the motion. He appealed the final order, including the award of attorney fees. It was remanded, but he says Ranson still filed an Abstract of Judgment seeking the money from him. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages, injunctive relief, attorney fees, court costs and expenses.
