Former employee sues Subtrax for discrimination

CHARLESTON -- A former employee is suing Subtrax, Inc. for discriminating against him because of his disability.

Matthew Jackson was employed by the defendant and consistently performed his duties in a satisfactory manner and met the defendant's reasonable expectations, according to a complaint filed March 28 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Jackson claims he was taunted and/or harassed during his employment because of his disability.

The defendant forced Jackson to work without notice and threatened that if he did not show up to unscheduled shifts, he would be fired, according to the suit.

Jackson claims he was ultimately fired.

The defendant's actions violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act, according to the suit.

Jackson is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre-judgment interest. He is being represented by D. Adrian Hoosier II.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
