Lavalette woman sues after falling through mobile home steps

WAYNE -- A Lavalette woman is suing Elsea, Inc., after she sustained injuries when she fell through the front steps of her mobile home.

Elsea, Inc. is doing business as Timberwolf Community, LLC.

On March 20, 2010, Donnetta Wiley was injured when she fell through the front steps of her mobile home, according to a complaint filed March 19 in Wayne Circuit Court.

Wiley claims she had previously reported to the defendant that the steps needed repairs.

The defendant was negligent and breached its duty owed to Wiley by failing to exercise ordinary care to keep and maintain the premises of the mobile home in a reasonably safe condition and by failing to make provisions as to the making of repairs as they were reported numerous times to the park manager, according to the suit.

Wiley claims as a result of the defendant's negligence, she sustained injuries and incurred medical expenses.

Wiley is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Donald R. Jarrell.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young Jr.
