New Putnam judge to be sworn in June 12

WINFIELD – The state's newest circuit judge will be sworn into office on at 2:30 p.m. on June 12 in the Putnam Judicial Building in Winfield in Courtroom A.

J. Robert Leslie was appointed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin on May 18 to replace O.C. Spaulding in the 29th Judicial Circuit, which covers Putnam County.

Spaulding retired on Dec. 31.

The oath of office will be conducted by Circuit Judge Phillip M. Stowers, the second circuit judge in the 29th Judicial Circuit.

Leslie is a graduate of Marshall University and Ohio Northern University College of Law. He is married to Amy Hensley Leslie, and they live in Hurricane.
