Elkview couple sues Kroger for injuries

CHARLESTON -- An Elkview couple is suing Kroger Limited Partnership I for injuries sustained at one of its grocery stores.

On Oct. 12, 2011, Huston Woods and Lynada Woods went to Kroger in Elkview and were shopping in the dairy aisle when Huston Woods slipped and fell in standing water on the floor, according to a complaint filed May 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The couple claims Huston Woods suffered bodily injuries and received medical treatment for the injuries.

As a result of the defendant's actions, Lynada Woods' right to society, companionship and service assumed by the marital relationship were affected, lost damaged and/or destroyed, according to the suit.

The couple is seeking compensatory damages. They are being represented by Tim C. Carrico.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
