* On Dec. 1, 2011, Chojnacki dug a ditch for a water line on Crawford's property at the direction of Lavalette PSD and E.L. Robinson. Crawford claims soon after the ditch was dug, his heated blacktop driveway and hillside began to slip and the heated driveway stopped working. On Dec. 16, 2011, Chojnacki poured cement and blacktop on Crawford's driveway without his permission and caused significant damage to the driveway due to the quality of the work. Crawford is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

* Pennington was employed by the defendant and claims there was no requirement that he be a resident of Huntington. On Nov. 22, 2010, Pennington received a letter requesting he submit a copy of his driver's license and/or voter's registration and two other proofs of residence, which he did on Dec. 7, 2010, and then advised he was trying to sell the residence, but would move back if necessary. On Dec. 10, 2010, Pennington was discharged for failure to maintain residency in Huntington. Pennington is seeking to be reinstated to his former position and compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

Eric Maynard vs. Cash & Carry Carpets

* The defendant installed carpet and hardwood floors in Maynard's residence between Aug. 3, 2011, and Aug. 8. Maynard claims 11 days after paying for the flooring in full, the hardwood floor began cracking and splintering and he immediately notified the defendant of the problem. On Sept. 8, 2011, the defendant's representative advised that they had identified the problem and would return the next day to repair it, but they failed to return. Maynard is seeking compensatory damages.

Jamalyn Stepp, as administratrix of the Estate of Daniel Pope, deceased vs. Bob Pope

* On Aug. 26, 2010, Daniel Pope was an employee of Bob Pope as a laborer. Stepp claims Daniel Pope was hauling logs of timber alone with Bob Pope to Tolsia Lumber Company in Fort Gay and as the two men were in the process of unloading logs from the back of Bob Pope's truck, one log fell from the truck and landed on Daniel Pope, causing severe injuries that ultimately led to his death. Stepp is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
