Huntington woman sues Speedway for injuries

HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington woman is suing Speedway SuperAmerica, LLC after she claims she was injured on its premises.

On Sept. 3, 2010, Kathy Dean was attempting to enter the Speedway SuperAmerica in Huntington when she slipped on water or oil on the ground and fell to the ground, according to a complaint filed Aug. 29 in Cabell Circuit Court.

Dean claims she suffered great bodily injury as a result of the defendant's negligence and incurred expenses for medical care and attention in the amount of $11,500.17

As a result of the defendant's negligence, recklessness and carelessness, Dean suffered injuries that are permanent and lasting in nature, according to the suit.

Dean is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Michael A. Turkaly.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul T. Farrell.
