Chafin receives Troopers Association endorsement

CHARLESTON -– The West Virginia Troopers Association Political Action Committee has endorsed Tish Chafin for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.

Doug Gunnoe, President of the West Virginia Troopers Association, said, “Our members proudly support Tish Chafin for the Supreme Court. We believe she will rule fairly and work with our members to strengthen public safety in communities across West Virginia.”

“It’s an honor to be endorsed by the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep West Virginians safe. I am proud to have their support,” Chafin said.

In addition to the State Troopers endorsement, Chafin has received the following endorsements: West Virginia Sheriff’s Association, Deputy Sheriffs Association, Charleston Professional Firefighters, West Virginia AFL-CIO, Communication Workers of America, United Mine Workers of America, West Virginia Nurses Association, South Central Labor Council, Charleston Professional Firefighters, West Virginia State United Auto Workers C.A.P. Council, United Auto Local Union 1590, State Building and Construction Trades Council, West Virginia Education Association, the Putnam County Farm Bureau, Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, West Virginia Chiropractic Society American Federation of Teachers –West Virginia, and the United Transportation Union.

“I have been working hard and meeting people all across West Virginia. As a result, people are backing my candidacy because they believe I will be a fair Justice. I believe that justice is best served when our justices rule based on the merits of the case, not the identity of the parties,” Chafin said.
