PERSONNEL FILE: Hammond joins Lewis Glasser

CHARLESTON -- Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins has announced that veteran commercial attorney David G. Hammond has joined the law firm as Senior Counsel.

He has joined the growing law firm to provide legal services in the areas of commercial transactions, secured lending, real estate, natural resources and corporate law. He joined LGCR after having worked for two Charleston law firms. He also was a former assistant general counsel for a publicly traded coal company.

Hammond is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the practice areas of Banking and Finance Law and Commercial Finance Law. He has received the AV-Preeminent peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized in the Chambers USA guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

He earned his B.S. degree in Finance from Virginia Tech and his J.D. degree from Washington & Lee University. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Hammond is a registered and licensed title insurance agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company. He is a member of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation, a Charter Member of the West Virginia Real Estate Lawyers Association and a Past Chair of the Committee on Real Estate, Zoning and Land Use of the West Virginia State Bar.

He has served the community through membership on many boards and commissions, including the Kanawha County Building Commission, the City of Charleston Civil Service Commission, Habitat for Humanity of West Virginia, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha and Putnam County, Inc. In 1999, Mr. Hammond was named the “Volunteer of the Millennium” by Mountaineer Habitat for Humanity, Inc.
