Man sues Machinery Services Corp. for car accident

Carwreck

CHARLESTON -- A Putnam County man is suing Machinery Services Corp. after he was involved in a car accident that caused him injuries.

Leland Owens, an employee of Machinery Services Corp., was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On Sec. 9, 2010, Richard Snyder was the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when he was struck by a vehicle being driven by Owens and owned by Machinery Services, according to a complaint filed Sept. 7 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Snyder claims Owens failed to maintain control of his vehicle.

As a result of Owens’ negligence, Snyder was seriously and severely injured in or about his neck, body and extremities, according to the suit.

Snyder claims at the time of the incident, the vehicle operated by Owens was an uninsured/under-insured motor vehicle.

Owens’ negligence caused Snyder to suffer a loss of ability to enjoy life and his ability to attend to his normal customary business and social affairs, according to the suit.

Snyder is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib Jr.
