CHARLESTON – With fewer than two weeks remaining before the 2012 general election, Justice Robin Davis has earned the endorsements of a significant number of West Virginia’s labor organizations, business groups and the state’s largest newspapers.

She is the only Supreme Court candidate endorsed by both the AFL-CIO and West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, both the United Mine Workers of America and West Virginia Coal Association and both the Charleston Gazette and Charleston Daily Mail.

“I have always let my work speak for itself,” Davis said in a press release. “And I appreciate what these endorsements signify: West Virginia’s highest court is fair to all litigants, and our decisions are based on the Constitution and the rule of law.

“While these groups represent widely divergent views on most issues, I am proud they found consensus on my record of leadership, stability and predictability on our Court."

Davis has earned the endorsements of numerous other newspapers, labor and business groups, including the West Virginia Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers – West Virginia, the West Virginia Medical Association, the West Virginia Hospital Association, the West Virginia Troopers’ Association, the Wheeling Intelligencer, the Huntington Herald-Dispatch and the Morgantown Dominion Post.
