* In April 2011, Kazee was hired to install a roof on Houck’s home. Houck claims Kazee negligently, carelessly and improperly installed the roof. Houck is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

James Earl Chapman vs. Xact Restorations, LLC

* On Nov. 18, 2010, National Abatement Cleaning, Inc., submitted a lump sum proposal to Xact for the removal of asbestos at a home in Kenova in the amount of $3,587. Xact hired Chapman, along with other NAC employees to work on the asbestos removal project. On Nov. 23, 2010, Chapman claims he was attempting to remove asbestos-contaminated wall paneling when the sledgehammer he was using went through the wall and came out the other side and struck his right knee and hip. Chapman is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment
interest.

Amanda S. Davis vs. Taxi Service, Inc. d/b/a Yellow Cab; and Irene Abbott, a/k/a Irene Dean,
individually and as the agent, servant and employee of Taxi Service, Inc.

* On Nov. 23, 2010, Davis was operating a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am on Huntington when Abbott, who was operating a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria owned by Taxi Service, attempted to make an “ill advised u-turn on 9th Street” and collided with Davis’ vehicle, the suit says. Davis is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

Lisa Clark vs. St. Mary’s Medical Center, Inc.
PA- Bert Ketchum; J- Paul T. Farrell
* Clark was employed by St. Mary’s as a registered nurse. She claims on Aug. 5, 2011, she arrived for her shift and was notified by nursing staff that a large, male patient was acting violently and presented a high probability of serious injury to staff, so she reported the unsafe working condition to her direct supervisor. Despite reporting the unsafe working condition, Clark says she was directed to work with the violent patient and was attacked by the patient and injured. Clark is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
