CHARLESTON – Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins PLLC (www.lgcr.com) continues to grow its capacities with the addition of two new associates, announced Nick Casey, the firm’s Managing Partner.
The associates -- Jared J. Jones and Andrew E. Longbons -- will work in the firm’s growing natural gas, commercial transactions and real estate practice areas.
Jones is an associate at Lewis Glasser, focusing on business organizations and estate planning. He is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law and earned an M.B.A. from West Virginia University. Prior to law school, Jones served full-time as an Engineer Officer for the West Virginia Army National Guard and then for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers where he oversaw rebuilding projects in four provinces of eastern Afghanistan. He remains active as an Engineer Officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard.
During law school, Jones served as an Associate Editor and then Executive Development Editor for Volume 114 of the West Virginia Law Review and published the inaugural work exploring West Virginia’s adoption of the Model State Code of Military Justice. Jones has had the privilege of being involved with WVU in its efforts to recruit veterans and improve veteran services. He was a member and president of Veterans’ Law Caucus during which time the College of Law formed the Veterans Assistance Program, a first-of-its-kind partnership between a law school clinic and the Veterans Administration to provide free legal services to qualifying West Virginia veterans.
While serving in the U.S. Army, Jones was awarded the Joint Forces Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Longbons is an associate in Lewis Glasser’s Morgantown office. Longbons focuses his practice on oil and gas, real estate and coal. Prior to joining Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins he practiced in Texas for a petroleum company managing and performing title review for major oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. As a result, he has extensive experience in many areas of the oil and natural gas industry.
Longbons earned a B.A. from the University of Indianapolis in History in 2005 and a minor in Business Administration. While attending the University of Indianapolis, he was a member of the Varsity Men’s Swim Team. Thereafter, he earned a J.D. from University of Dayton School of law in 2009, with honors. Since graduation, Longbons has been admitted to the Texas State Bar.
Lewis Glasser has been representing clients for more than 40 years in the areas of energy (natural gas and coal), business transactions, litigation, health care, corporate bankruptcy and alternative dispute resolution.
The firm continues its practice in matters related to public utilities, commercial developments, finance and securities, construction, and real estate. The firm also maintains an active government relations practice, representing natural gas clients, among others, before the West Virginia Legislature and in Washington D.C.
