CHARLESTON – A Raleigh County man is suing Stanley Steamer Partners Too Ins., after he claims one of its employees caused a car accident.

Jason Lee Pugh, an employee of Stanley Steamer, was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On Dec. 14, 2011, Joseph Eric Besenyei was operating a vehicle on U.S. 19 in Princeton while Pugh was operating a vehicle owned by Stanley Steamer in the same direction, according to a complaint filed Dec. 20 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Besenyei claims Pugh failed to maintain control of the vehicle and failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with his vehicle.

Pugh admitted in a post-collision statement that he was not looking in the direction of the vehicles in front of him when he collided with Besenyei’s vehicle, according to the suit.

Besenyei claims Pugh failed to keep a proper lookout as he operated the motor vehicle owned by Stanley Steamer and was negligent, careless and/or reckless in the operation of the vehicle.

As a result of the defendants’ negligence, recklessness and carelessness, Besenyei suffered physical injuries and damages requiring surgical intervention, according to the suit.

Besenyei claims he suffered physical pain; mental and emotional anguish; and a diminishment in his ability to fully function and enjoy life as a result of the injuries he sustained in the automobile collision.

Besenyei is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Michael A. Olivio and Travis A. Griffith.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
