PERSONNEL FILE: Three join Shuman, McCuskey and Slicer

CHARLESTON - Shuman, McCuskey and Slicer PLLC is pleased to welcome Philip B. Sword, David L. Shuman, Jr. and John Blanc as attorneys to the firm.

Sword was admitted to practice law in the state of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in 2006. Sword represents companies and government agencies in cases involving catastrophic loss, wrongful death and civil rights litigation. Sword is also a Criminal Justice Act Panel attorney and practices criminal defense, primarily in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. Sword has joined the firm in its Charleston office.

Recently admitted to practice law in the state of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, Shuman Jr. represents professionals, insurance companies and state agencies in cases involving personal injury, professional liability, wrongful death and civil rights litigation. Shuman has joined the firm in its Charleston office.

Blanc worked briefly in the banking and customer service industries before obtaining his R.B.A. from Shepherd University in 2008. He then to attended the West Virginia University College of Law, graduating in May 2012. Blanc served as the Community Service Chair for his 3L class, and his Student Note was published last year by the West Virginia Law Review. Blanc has joined the firm in its Morgantown office.
