HUNTINGTON – A former employee is suing Sheetz after he claims it failed to pay his final wages within 72 hours of terminating his employment.
Huntington Park, Inc., is doing business as Sheetz #427.
Amos O’Dell Prince II was employed by Sheetz from Aug. 10 until Jan. 8, according to a complaint filed Jan. 22 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Prince claims the defendant failed to pay his final wages within 72 hours.
Sheetz violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act by failing to pay Prince in a timely manner, according to the suit.
Prince claims the defendant’s actions caused him to suffer damages.
As a result of Sheetz’s failure to pay Prince within 72 hours of terminating his employment, Prince is entitled to an award of wages due with interest and liquidated damages of three times the unpaid amount, according to the suit.
Prince is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and George B. Morrone III.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake.
