CHARLESTON – A woman is suing Windham Professionals, Inc., after she claims it has contacted her multiple times even after she informed them she was being represented by counsel.
Sheila D. Allen claims the defendant has attempted to contact her numerous times regarding payment of an alleged debt, according to a complaint filed Jan. 23 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Allen claims even after she instructed the defendant to speak with her attorney, it still attempted to contact her.
Windham continued to contact Allen at her place of employment even after she told them not to, according to the suit.
Allen claims the defendant’s actions violation the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.
The defendant’s conduct is of a kind which has the natural consequence of causing harassment, oppression, abuse, aggravation, annoyance and inconvenience, according to the suit.
Allen is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented by Anthony J. Majestro and J.C. Powell.
