Randolph Engineering accused of harming business' credit report

CHARLESTON – A man is suing Randolph Engineering Co. after he claims it wrongfully placed a fraudulent judgment on his business credit report.

Alexander J. Ross was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Mark E. Snapp, who is doing business as Mark E. Snapp & Associates, claims the defendants knowingly and willingly conspired to place an unofficial and fraudulent unsatisfied judgment on his Dun & Bradstreet Business Credit Report, according to a complaint filed Jan. 30 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The judgment was done on Aug. 4, 2009, in the amount of $3,631, according to the suit.

Snapp claims the defendants never notified him or Kanawha Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman hat the official, unsatisfied judgment was ever entered as part of any mutual release agreement.

On Dec. 21, a Dun & Bradstreet representative brought the action to Snapp’s attention, according to the suit.

Snapp claims the defendants’ actions caused him harm.

Snapp is seeking for the defendants to tell Dun & Bradstreet and any other related credit reporting agencies that the information sent was in error and should have never been reported; that the defendants pay $7,262 for their actions; that the defendants pay punitive damages in the amount of $14,624; that the defendants pay pre-judgment interest at 10 percent from Aug. 4, 2009, through Feb. 4, or pay the amount of $7,746.13. He is representing himself.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
