HUNTINGTON - Huddleston Bolen and DeemHR will host a Human Resource Conference titled "HR 2013: Practical Information on the Issues You Face," in Huntington on March 5.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Education Center.

The conference will feature three day-long tracks allowing guests to gain in-depth information on: Drug testing in the workplace; employee handbooks; and hiring good employees, managing trouble and firing bad apples.
The conference will also include a panel discussion allowing guests to get practical insight from three senior HR professionals: Sara Walker, Director of the West Virginia Division of Personnel; Sheri Taylor, Human Resource Director, Veolia Environmental Services; and John O’Conner, Vice President of Administration and Director of Human Resources, Steel of West Virginia.
In other sessions:
·Kevin Nelson, a partner at Huddleston Bolen who represents employers in legal matters, and Lonnie Simmons, a partner at Ditrapano Barrett Dipiero McGinley & Simmons who represents employees in legal matters, will conduct a session on mediating employment cases; and
·Thomas Myers and Nicole Myers, of City Insurance, will help employers understand how to address the new workplace requirements of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and offer tips on steps employers can take to manage health care costs.
The lunch keynote speaker is Emily Bennington, who will speak on the “Top 10 Reasons You Lose Good Employees.” Bennington is the author of "Who Says It’s a Man’s World: The Girls’ Guide to Corporate Domination," and the coauthor of "Effective Immediately: How to Fit In, Stand Out, and Move Up at Your First Real Job." She has led training programs for numerous Fortune 500 companies and has been featured in business press ranging from CNN, ABC, and Fox to the Wall Street Journal and New York Post. She is also a contributing writer for Monster.com and a featured blogger for Forbes Woman.
