Couple sue Chrysler over jeep

Grubb

CHARLESTON - A Raleigh County couple are suing Chrysler Group LLC for a vehicle they claim is defective.

Sheets Automotive Group LLC was also named as a defendant in the suit.

On Oct. 1, 2011, Harley Snuffer and Carrie Snuffer purchased a 2011 Jeep Wrangler from the defendants, according to a complaint filed March 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The Snuffers claim after purchasing the vehicle, they discovered and experienced repeated non-conformities that substantially impaired the use, value and/or safety of the vehicle.

As a result of the non-conformities, the Snuffers returned the vehicle to the defendants on at least five occasions for repairs, but the defendants failed to repair the vehicle, according to the suit.

The Snuffers claim the manufacturer failed and refused to provide a comparable replacement vehicle and to reimburse them pursuant to their rights under West Virginia law.

The defendants' actions were willful, wanton and/or carried out with reckless disregard for the Snuffers' rights, according to the suit.

The Snuffers are seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. They are being represented by David L. Grubb, Cameron S. McKinney and D. Christopher Hedges of the Grubb Law Group.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
