Man sues City of Charleston over car accident

CHARLESTON - A man is suing the City of Charleston for allegedly causing a motor vehicle accident that caused him injuries.

On April 17, 2012, Kevin D. Myers was operating a vehicle on Washington Street in Kanawha County when Ronald Adams, who was an employee of the City of Charleston, drove in a reckless, negligent and careless fashion and caused a collision, according to a complaint filed May 16 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Myers claims Adams' reckless, negligent and careless operation of his vehicle caused him injuries.

As a direct and proximate result of the negligence, recklessness and carelessness of the defendant, Myers incurred various and sundry expenses for doctors, hospitals, medicines and medical care and attention, according to the suit.

Myers claims the defendant caused him to be physically injured.

The defendant's actions caused Myers to suffer injuries to his neck, head and back, as well as caused him the loss of enjoyment of life, impairments and disabilities, according to the suit.

Myers is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is being represented by Jeffrey T. Jones of the Law Offices of Jeffrey T. Jones PLLC.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
