CHARLESTON - A former employee is suing Selah Corporation for wrongfully terminating his employment and discriminating against him.

Clayton Cline, an employee if Selah, was also named as a defendant in the suit.

Danny Lee Cecil was employed for approximately 3.5 years with the defendants until May 4, according to a complaint filed June 10 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Cecil claims his employment was wrongfully terminated in whole or in part because of his disability and/or perceived disability, which was a heart condition.

As a result of the defendants' actions, Cecil suffered lost wages and benefits, according to the suit.

Cecil claims the defendants' actions entitle him to damages for indignity, embarrassment and humiliation.

The defendants' actions were willful and malicious and violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act, according to the suit.

Cecil is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre-judgment interest. He is being represented by Mark A. Atkinson of Atkinson & Polak PLLC.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
