Scooter1

WAYNE - A mother is suing Camden Park Incorporated for injuries she and her son allegedly sustained while riding the Flying Scooter.

On July 30, 2011, Elizabeth Harless and Ryan Scott Harless were at Camden Park and were passengers on the Flying Scooter, according to a complaint filed July 30 in Wayne Circuit Court.

Elizabeth Harless claims when the ride operator began accelerating the Flying Scooter to its speeds, the motor on the ride seized up, sheared its mounting and fell to the ground, which caused the ride to come to a complete stop and cause injuries.

When the ride came to a complete stop, Elizabeth Harless' body slammed into her son and caused him injuries, according to the suit.

Elizabeth Harless claims as owner, manager and/or occupier of the amusement park, Camden Park owed Elizabeth Harless and Ryan Harless a duty to protect them from defective or dangerous conditions.

The defendant negligently maintained their premises and breached their duty to keep the premises in a safe condition, according to the suit.

Elizabeth Harless claims as a direct and proximate result of the breach of the defendant's duties, Elizabeth Harless and Ryan Harless suffered physical injury; pain and suffering; emotional distress; annoyance and inconvenience; aggravation; and they have incurred medical bills and expenses.

As a result of Camden Park's negligent, careless and/or reckless acts, Elizabeth Harless' children have suffered a loss of her consortium, according to the suit.

Elizabeth Harless is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Troy N. Giatras of the Giatras Law Firm PLLC.
