PRINCETON - A Mercer County resident is suing her former employer over claims of unlawful discharge.
Lori Denise Johnson filed the retaliatory discharge lawsuit on Jan. 10 in the Circuit Court of Mercer County against Comcast of West Virginia LLC, Comcast of the South LLC, Comcast of California/Maryland/Pennsylvania/Virginia/West Virginia LLC, Elizabeth Delany, Donna Linkous, Heather Adkins and Heather Modad.
Johnson alleges Comcast fired her on June 12, 2012 after she made complaints about racial discrimination and hostile workplace.
Comcast says that Johnson was fired because she did not ensure the cash drawer was correct, as required by her job. However, Comcast's reason for discharge was completely pre-textual, according to the complaint.
Johnson is seeking an undetermined amount of damages. She is being represented in the case by Beckley attorneys Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore and Stephen P. New of New Law Office.
