BECKLEY – A lemon law lawsuit brought over a 2011 Jeep Wrangler has been quickly settled.

Shonda M. Treadway, of Charleston, filed her lawsuit Jan. 10 against Chrysler Group in Raleigh County Circuit Court. On May 1, Judge Robert A. Burnside, Jr. entered an order of dismissal that said the issue had been settled.

Treadway says she purchased the Wrangler on Aug. 19, 2011, at Chrysler Group in Beckley for $27,439.25, plus taxes and fees.

Her lawsuit, filed by Fayetteville attorney Ralph C. Young of Hamilton, Burgess, Young & Pollard, said she experienced nonconformities.

“After a reasonable number of attempts to do so, the manufacturer did not conform the new motor vehicle to the warranty nor replace the vehicle with a comparable new motor vehicle which did conform to the warranties,” the complaint says.

Treadway said she also experienced annoyance and inconvenience and incurred expenses for replacement transportation.

She was also seeking a refund and costs of repairs.

Chrysler Group denied the allegations in an answer filed Aug. 20. It said Treadway had misused, abused or otherwise altered the vehicle.

The defendant was representative by Christina J. Marshall of Sutter O’Connell in Cleveland.
